Stay near a metro line and group Yuelu Mountain, Yuelu Academy and Orange Isle into the same side of the city. Evenings are best left flexible for food streets and the riverfront.
Best time to visit
March–May and September–November offer the most comfortable weather for city sightseeing. Summers are hot and humid, while winters can be cool and damp.
How many days do I need?
Two days covers the main city highlights and food scene. Three days allows a slower pace or additional museums, neighborhoods and evening exploration.
How to get there
Changsha Huanghua International Airport serves domestic and regional flights, while Changsha South Railway Station is a major high-speed rail hub.
Getting around
The metro is the easiest way to move between major districts, with taxis useful for shorter connections. Yuelu Mountain, Yuelu Academy and Orange Isle can be grouped into one sightseeing area.
What to combine it with
